"To make things that don’t exist yet and don’t need to exist is the very definition of art, and to send them out into the world is wildly and practically and gorgeously hopeful" You're killing me over here- this is so gorgeous!🥹
It's such a pleasant surprise that your writing about poetry is so resonant to me as a floral designer. So much of your creative process is similar to my process in creating arrangements. I'm at the point in your book where you are writing about surprise. People are always a little curious that I don't use recipes in my designs. I really try not to go into the design with an idea of what it should be or what it should look like. I let the flowers take the lead and I'm often surprised by the color combinations, textures and overall look of the arrangement when I'm done. Thanks for sharing your tips on creativity. They're appreciated!

Poetry is its own kind of tourniquet
