Marriage rates fell 60% in last 50 years and divorce 40% in same timeframe. Perhaps delaying and/or avoiding marriage are the key to successful long term marriages. Also the “elites” are bad but the college educated do better.

I appreciated the article! Sadly, I am another statistical single mom by choice bc of a bad man. I married with full intention to be together forever. I never thought it was necessary for the "me first self care" or "separate bank accounts" until it was needed for me to escape, and get out if I wanted to live. Advice varies depending on the caliber/ integrity of man a woman is married to.

So… could you just add to:

‘The data tells us that men and women who are in a good marriage are a staggering 545 percent more likely to be very happy with their lives compared to their fellow Americans who are unmarried or in unhappy marriages.’

What percentage of marriages are ‘good’ in these stats?

And what is the difference between men and women in their happiness levels with both good and bad marriages ?

Divorce are 2/3 led by women walking out the door. I suspect there’s a reason.

I should’ve just stopped when I saw American Enterprise Institute but wanted to see what conclusions they would reach. When he refers to his group as the elites, I realized that was 13 minutes of my life I can’t get back.
