A few days ago, we published a list of our favorite new books on AI, and today I’d like to call attention to one of those books, AI Snake Oil: What Artificial Intelligence Can Do, What It Can’t, and How to Tell the Difference. Written by two Princeton computer scientists, and , the book brings a clarifying lens to the hype currently surrounding artificial intelligence. The truth is the term is an umbrella one that covers wildly different technologies, from chatbots to self-driving cars to hiring algorithms—each with its own capabilities and limitations.
