Nicole Vignola shares 5 key insights from Rewire: Break the Cycle, Alter Your Thoughts and Create Lasting Change (Your Neurotoolkit for Everyday Life).
Thanks for sharing your ideas, Nicole. I appreciate your insight about dopamine being linked to pursuit, not to happiness. Any tips on how to manage our dopamine so we aren't constantly chasing that high?
Hey Michael. Thanks so much for the feature. Sitting in that discomfort of wanting to do more, eat more, scroll more etc, is what is going to help regulate those dopamine levels. Long term, rewiring your brain to not give in to the urge every single time it arises, will mean that you won't reinforce that pattern that then becomes habitual. A classic example is the urge to pick up your phone for no reason. By giving in to the urge every time, you reinforce the habitual pattern. I hope this helps!
