Excellent overview provided by Michael here, for a book that is clearly important. My neighbors are both psychologists and note that therapy has plenty of limits as practiced, including a rate of real transformative progression by clients/patients that numbers no better than 15-25% range. I used to work for the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, and the risk of placing on-going billing (revenue) ahead of anything else in professional work is always there. We passed specific regs to counteract the risk of egregious, unnecessary or unproductive work in several realms, trying as this article does to highlight needs to reconsider the pathways we take to help people improve their lives, whatever the circumstances. Sincerely, Dan Hill, PhD
